WHAT I LEARNED IN CLASS THIS WEEK
1. In class this week I learned that when something is moving for example a bus in the direction of my right that it does not always mean that it is moving right. It could be different from another persons prespective. So when describing the direction something is moving it is better to use directions such as North, South, East, and West because it doesnt matter on your perspective directions are always directions. It is important to know this in the real world because if you are describeing directions you can clear up confusion by useing the directions on a compass.
2. Also in class this week I learned that if you are describing directions and you dont have a compass that you can describe directions such as possitive and negative. We learned this by going over a homwork sheet in class. It is important to know this because now I can describe direction even if I dont have a compass.
3. Finally in class this week I learned that as things move the gain speed by picking up momentum. I learned this by doing an experiment with an elctric car during class on Friday. It is important to know this because it can help understand the world around us such as why a ball when you through it does ith pick up speed?

WHAT I LEARNED IN SCIENCE THIS WEEK!!!

  1. This week in class I learned that when you look at an object such as a ruler in water from an angle it looks like it is bent which is called a refraction. We learned this when we did an experiment on it in class on Tuesday. It is important to know this because now if you look at something in the water and it is distorted I will know that it is truly not bent it just looks like that.
  2. Also this week we learned about the wave model of light and the particle model of light and how they both work under different conditions for example the particle model works for casting shadows and the wave model works for the refracting of light in water. We learned this through experiments done in class. It is important to know this so that I know that not just one light model works and that they work in different conditions.
  3. Last but not least we learned that when the light from the wave model hits the water it refracts at a down angle. We learned this by discussing it and finally coming to this conclusion in class. It is important to know this because now I know that the wave model works with the refracting of light and now I know how it works.

What We Learned In Class This Week (:

1. In class this week we learned that all different surfaces have different levels of reflectiveness. For example water is more reflective than the table. We learned this by testing how reflective they were we shined the lazer on many different surfaces and then gave the reflectivness a rating of 1-5 and thats how we came to our conclusion. It is important to know this incase you are tyring to see your reflection in something you know wheather or not you will be able to see it.

2. Also in class this week I learned that if I shine a lazer at the mirror it will reflect back up at the same angle. We learned this by shining the lazer at a 30 degrees and measured the angle if reflected back at and it was 30 degrees. Then we did the same thing with 40 degrees and so on. It is important to know this because it is good to know that things will reflect off of a surface at the same angle they are shined at.

3. Finally in class this week I learned that light is made up of particles of light. Light moves at the speed of light and gos in staight lines. We learned this because Mr. Finley and Mr. Segan taught us this in class on Friday. It is important to know this because now I know what light is made up off and that could be useful.
